Monroe PTA Program and Event Descriptions
Classroom Accounts – The PTA provides each grade level with a set amount of money (based on current grade level enrollment) that can be used towards, field trips, classroom supplies or other learning related activities such as Renascence Day. The PTA supports additional teacher request based on the current funds available.
Dining Out Fundraiser Nights – Throughout the year, the PTA sponsored dining out fundraising nights at local restaurants. You will receive notification prior to the events via a special flyer that will be distributed by your child’s home-room teacher and dates will be included in the daily bulletin. These flyers ensure that a portion of your meal (anywhere from 10%-15%) is donated back to Monroe. These are fun, social events for the whole family and are also attended by some faculty members.
Programs at Monroe – Art, Music, Math, Science , Technology - In an effort to support the school programs that are offered at Monroe, special funding requests are available to each class (subject to membership and/or Board approval) and can be used towards an educational opportunity for students (i.e. science may use their funds towards the classroom science projects or any other item related to Science).
After School Sports – The after-school sports programs offered at Monroe include track, basketball and volleyball. Special PTA funding requests are available to the sports programs, to be used toward uniforms, nets, and equipment. The amount of dollars contributed is determined based on the available funds. Watch the daily bulletin (sign up through Power School), Monroe Maverick (bimonthly newsletter sent home with your student), and the monthly PTA Newsletter for additional information about upcoming tryouts and scheduled meets.
PTA Meetings – The Monroe Middle School PTA Association meets several times a year in the school library. Any items you would like to have added to the agenda must be submitted to the PTA President at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting. Association business including finances, school updates, guest speakers, and community reports are presented at these meetings. Information about upcoming meeting dates is included in the daily bulletins, Monroe Maverick and the home page of this website.
Staff Appreciation Luncheons – The Hospitality Committee plans several luncheons and snacks for monthly meeting for teachers and staff throughout the year. Food and decorations are donated by parents to show appreciation for the great job that the staff does with our children.
The PTA also supports the Monroe Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
